The main difference between a Chiropodist and a Podiatrist is in the number of years of schooling received and the scope of surgical procedures performed. Podiatrists are able to perform bone surgeries such as bunion correction vs Chiropodists which can only perform soft tissue surgeries such as ingrown toenail removal. Ontario Chiropody act 1991, allows podiatrists to register and practice only within the scope of a Chiropodist.

A referral is not required to consult a Chiropodist; however, Chiropodists work closely with other medical professionals as part of the health care team.

No, our services are not covered by OHIP. Most private medical insurance covers chiropody services and orthotics, the amount of coverage may vary from one company to the other.

Our clinic does not offer direct billing to your insurance company. Services are paid for at the end of the appointment and a detailed receipt will be given with all the information needed to your private insurance company.
